Refugee Education Center Welcomes Tatum Hawkins as New Philanthropy Director

The Refugee Education Center is thrilled to announce Tatum Hawkins as its new Philanthropy Director. In this key role, Tatum will spearhead the center’s fundraising efforts, forging meaningful partnerships and securing vital resources to support the organization's mission of empowering refugee children, their families, and the schools they attend in West Michigan. 

Tatum brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and community engagement to the Refugee Education Center. With a strong background in nonprofit development and a deep commitment to social justice, she is poised to drive fundraising initiatives to new heights.

Prior to joining our team, Tatum served as Director of Development & Communications at the Women’s Resource Center and Children’s Advocacy Center of Kent County. Her dedication to creating positive change aligns seamlessly with the Refugee Education Center’s commitment to supporting refugees in their journey to become fully participating members of the West Michigan community.

As Philanthropy Director, Tatum will be pivotal in driving the Refugee Education Center’s mission forward, working closely with the board of directors, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders to secure funding, expand programming, and amplify the organization’s impact.
