WZZM13: Refugees Navigate Virtual Learning
Over 100 students within Kent Intermediate School District are refugees, who in some cases, have never had a formal education or used technology.
The Refugee Education Center in Grand Rapids, which has assisted students and families since 2006, is one of the organizations that provides support to families navigating the school system. Hannah Werth, High School Transition coordinator, says the organization has been able to pivot its programming and help train families on technology.
The Refugee Education Center is proud to partner with Bethany Christian Services and Kent ISD. Together, we support refugee students on their journeys.
